Congratulations to EAI President, Pearl Warner!

Golden Proble AwardEAI members attending AEA's convention in New Jersey were thrilled to have one of their own take center stage as Jim Paesner of Synoptic Products (Ballet Needles) awarded Pearl Warner, CPE, the prestigious Gold Probe Award. The recognition is given annually to an electrologist who is relatively new to the profession and who, early on in her career, has demonstrated a leadership role and made a significant contribution to the profession.

I was sitting next to Pearl when Jim started describing the accomplishments of this year's winner and as he continued, I nudged Pearl with a gasp of recognition- "he's talking about you! " "Oh, my God, " was all she said-and then a grin from ear to ear!

Debbie Malacina, CPE nominated Pearl for the award and it was unanimously approved by AEA's board of directors. Pearl's commitment and dedication to the profession was described by Jim:

Pearl and Me
"This year's winner completed her training as an electrologist in 1999 and earned her CPE in October, 2005. She is a licensed aesthetician and has been self-employed since 2000. Her office is located in Crestwood, IL. She joined EAI in 2001 seeking the comradeship of other electrologists and education to enable her to give her clients the best service possible. She was seeking an understanding of industry requirements where she could receive a sense of direction, industry information first hand and learn about the latest technologies. She became a board member in 2005 and accepted the position as chairperson of EAI's Newsletter Ad Sales Committee. In January, 2006, she assumed the responsibilities of president of EAI. She holds a BA in Marketing from DePaul University. It gives me great honor to award this year's Gold Probe Award to Pearl Warner."

Pearl received a standing ovation and many congratulatory hugs. It's a good thing we have a picture of the event because for Pearl, it was a blur of excitement. The award has a place of honor in Pearl's office. Congratulations, Pearl
